School Carnival Inflatables

Inflatables are a great tool for fundraising at a school carnival.  Schools often throw carnivals at least once or twice per year, and it can be a really great fundraising opportunity if the school takes advantage of having games and activities there for kids to enjoy with their parents or siblings.

Some inflatables do better than others when it comes to fundraising at a school carnival.  There are advantages and disadvantages to each inflatable game.  Below are some examples of the different types of inflatables for school carnivals:

1.  Bouncers:  Bouncers are a staple of any inflatable carnival.  These are the classic pieces that most kids have had or want to have at their own birthday party.  The disadvantage of a standard bouncer is that the ride is slow, as kids get a couple minutes each to bounce around.  The rides are timed, and there is about a 30 second delay between rides because each kid must get out and then the next kids get in.

2.  Slides:  Slides are a great carnival piece.  Slides are a very high throughput item.  Kids love inflatable slides because they are often bigger than most inflatables they have ever seen.  There are a bunch of different slide designs and many unique slides that can be rented for a school carnival.

3.  Obstacle Courses.  Obstacles are one of the best school carnival inflatables that can be rented.  These are an exremely high throughput ride that can have great returns.  Kids start on one end and exit the other end.  They run through the ride, so there is a very clear starting and stopping point for this ride.  There really aren’t any negatives of inflatable obstacle courses for school carnivals.

4.  Inflatable Joust Arenas.  Jousting arenas are great for a school carnival because two kids can do this interactive inflatable at once.  The throughput on this ride is not as high as a slide or obstacle, but this ride is a must for older kids in the 5th grade and up age group.

5.  Dunk Tanks.  A dunk tank is a staple at a school carnival.  Dunk tanks are great for dunking teachers, the principal, parents, or the football coach.  It attracts a crowd when there is a popular person in the dunk tank.  The only negative about a dunk tank is that the water can get messy on grass, and it can only be done outdoors as a result.

6.  Bungee Runs.  A bungee run attracts a crowd at a school carnival.  The action of seeing your friends, teachers, or parents being launched backward on the bungee run is truly fun to see for everyone.  This ride is a lower throughput ride, but you can charge more for it, as it is interactive.

7.  Inflatable games.  There are many inflatable games to rent for a school carnival.  It is always a good idea to have a few inflatable games at your carnival such as a basketball inflatable, tee ball, or soccer inflatable game.  These items are not huge money makers necessarily, but are necessary for giving out prizes for kids.

8.  Boxing Rings.  Inflatable bouncy boxing rings are popular amongst the older kid age group.  This again is not a very high throughput inflatable, but it is very popular and is something you can charge more tickets for per ride.

Inflatables are a great way to raise money at a school carnival.  Be sure that you get rides that will both attract attention and not make the kids wait a long time in line.  Inflatables are the key to a successful school carnival.
