Jumper Customer Pick Ups
At AZ Bounce Pro we get asked all the time by potential customers if they can pick up their jumper rental and set up the jumper themselves. Our answer is always, “No.” Many of our competitors offer customer pickup services in Phoenix, we just choose not to do this for our own protection and the customers’ benefit.
Here are reasons that customer pickups are not an acceptable practice for jumper rentals for both the rental company and the rental customer.
1. Set Up. Setting up an inflatable jumper is not an easy task! Even the most standard jumper weighs at least 150 pounds. If you have never set up any sort of inflatable before, you will find that handling an inflatable is not an easy task. They are abnormally sized and not like anything you have handled before. If you don’t have a truck to pickup the jumper, don’t even think about trying to fit it into the trunk of your car!
2. Safety. All reputable jumper rental companies train their employees on how to PROPERLY set up an inflatable. There are also organizations like SIOTO that certify companies that go through their training. All inflatables should be secured to the ground with stakes or sandbags. All extension cords should be a thick guage wire. These are only two of the rules of setting up a jumper.
3. Cleanliness. Reputable jumper rental companies will clean their inflatables before and after every event. When you are dealing with a customer pick up company, who is cleaning the inflatables? Inflatables need to be cleaned every rental. Renting from a company that delivers is typically cleaner than a customer pickup company.
4. Liability. If you set up your own jumper, you are responsible for injuries that happen as a result of your negligence setting up the jumper. Do you need that liability? Most reputable inflatable rental companies carry liability insurance against their own negligence. Look for that when renting.
5. Savings. How much will you really save when picking up your own inflatable? You have to drive down to the facility to pick up the inflatable. That costs gas. What about your time? What is that worth? Inflatable rental companies have delivery drivers and crews that make multiple deliveries per day. They are able to maximize those crews for optimal delivery schedules.
The next time you are looking to rent a jumper and are thinking about picking it up yourself, ask yourself, “Is it worth it”?
