Dunk Tanks and Dunk Tank Alternatives

Dunk tanks are a classic carnival game.  Many people rent dunk tanks from their local party rental company to dunk their principal, boss, or teacher at a school carnival or company picnic.

Dunk tanks have been around for years.  There are however many different forms of dunk tanks, and there are other water games that are just as much, if not more fun!

1.  Traditional Dunk Tanks

These setups are the original.  The dunking victim climbs to the top of the dunk tank and sits on a platform waiting for people to throw balls at the target.  Once the target is hit, the person is dunked into the pool of water.

2.  Pitch Burst

The Pitch Burst from WhirlWhims is a game that has gained dramatically in popularity in the past years.  It is a great dunk tank alternative because the person getting soaked sits under a water balloon that bursts when the target is hit by a ball.  This unit is extra cool because the water balloons can be filled with flour, whipped cream, or slime instead of water!

3.  Downpour Derby

The Downpour Derby is a lesser known “dunk” game that pits two competitors against each other.  Each person spins a crank to release a bucket of water on their competitor.  This is a great dunk tank alternative.

4.  Boom Blasters

The Boom Blasters are much like the Downpour Derby.  It puts competitors against each other in a competition of who can pump their station faster.  The balloons pop at their competitors’ stations if they are the fastest.

Interactive Water Games

You can clearly see that a shift is being made to much more interactive water games than in years past.  Manufacturers like WhirlWhims and Twister Display are making games that bring more competition into water games than traditional dunk tanks.
