Bounce House Netting

When renting a bounce house there are some small things that you will want to consider when choosing which company to go with.  One such thing to consider is what type of netting the company has on their bounce house walls and sides.

Netting keeps the kids inside of the bounce house and keeps the kids from bouncing out onto the ground.  There is often netting on the front, side, and sometimes the entrace of the bounce.  The netting is absolutely necessary.

Not all bounce house netting is created equally however.  There are two basic types of netting, and the major difference between the two is size.

The first, more common, type of netting is the type that is about 2″ wide and 2″ tall.  This comes on most standard bounce houses, and is the traditional netting for most older bounce units.  This type has been available for years and is very widely used.  There are safety concerns with this larger style of netting.  Having such large spacing in the net can allow children to get their fingers and other extremeties caught in the netting, potentially leading to injury.

The second type of netting is a much smaller-spaced type that prevents children from getting their fingers caught.  This type of netting has very small openings in it, often smaller than the width of children’s fingers.  This type allows the parents to still see into the bounce.  This type of netting shades the sun very well also, allowing kids to jump even during the extreme heat of the summer months.

Be sure to ask your party rental company which type of bounce house netting they have on their bounce units.  You will be very happy that you asked when you get a bouncer that has the smaller-gap netting that is safer and keeps your kids cooler!
