Backyard Water Slides – Buy or Rent?
Are you considering purchasing an inflatable backyard water slide? Perhaps you have gone to a department store lately and seen one of these giant colorful inflatable water slides in the aisle of the store and though this may be a fun item to purchase for your kids. Here are a few things to consider prior to purchasing an inflatable water slide for your own use.
1. Cost
Inflatable water slides are not the cheapest items to purchase as a fun activity for your kids. They often times cost more than $300 for a nicer water slide. Is this cost worth it when you consider you can rent a much larger and nicer water slide from a reputable party rental company for less?
2. Safety
Are you qualified to set up an inflatable water slide? Have you received the proper training to set one up? There are hundreds of accidents per year with home-based water slides. These accidents most often are caused because the person who set up the equipment was not properly trained in how to set up the slide.
3. Sanitation
Inflatable water slides get wet. That seems obvious. When they get wet they must be dried out and sanitized before being put away. If this does not happen mold and mildew will fester in the unit, ruining your water slide and causing your kids to get sick.
4. Storage
Water slides are not easy to roll! Needless to say, the water slide that you purchased in the store will not fold and roll as small as the day you purchased it. Storage can be a huge concern for many, as most garages are brimming with junk already!
If you still feel you would like to purchase an inflatable water slide after these four warnings, by all means give them a shot. If you are inerested in a water slide rental, rent from a reputable company that is insured and has a great selection in their inventory. There is a lot out there so happy sliding!
